Area 1: Audiovisual Combination and Expression in Experimental Animated Music Video
In this area I want to study the application of abstract elements in experimental animated music videos.
Émile Benveniste believes that there is a mutual translation relationship between different symbol systems.
Nietzsche believes that music can produce metaphorical pictures and has the ability to evoke images.
I would like to study the inter-translation between the language of animation and the language of music in animated music videos. Investigate how this musical visualization drives narrative, or emotional reinforcement.
This is a great example of an experimental animated music video.
In the final work, I also want to combine this research direction into 3d animation and make a MV. (If only I could find music majors to collaborate with.)
Area 2: Application of 2D hand-drawn texture and special effects in 3D animation
As I am interested in 2D animation, I often consider the application of 3D animation in the area of 2D.
There are many cases of 2d animation combined with 3D animation. Arcane, a popular animated series, combines the two with special hand-drawn textures and special effects to create an amazing graphic style.
In the recent Collaboration Unit, I am also trying to study this field, so I consider it as the topic.
